T.E.S. Clothing Interview

Hey Guys. Sorry no new artwork for now. I have been pretty busy with my new job these days. But as I said in an earlier post Im designing The Endangered Species Clothing Company's Spring T-shirt line and Its gonna be GREAT!. Characters from life@

So I know many of you have heard of character design from life from people like Stephen Silver, Mark McDonnell, and Mike Mattesi. These guys have it down!~

Simply put, when a model is in front of you, create a character from it. Create a story for it to live in and keep drawing that character for every pose your model decides to go into. This can be done with a clothed, or a nude model. Its all about what you see and what moves you about the model.

So Heres a series of drawings from life. Character was my number one goal and of course putting the force and rhythm into it as well.

when I was a boy...

I was quite round and still had a widows peak. It just wasn't as noticeable as it is now.
I did this in my sketch book and just did a quick color in PSCS4.

THis Guy is a concept for an upcoming Project Im working on with some friends of mine over at TES Clothing . They are Great guys, and Im really excited about the product Im working on with them.

These are just me having fun!





So I know Its been A couple weeks. I had a tough time getting back on track after the vacation. The stupid cough has been with me since I got back and I think its only barely starting to let go. Ah well. When I got back I hit up a zoo and have been working hard on some animation. My Thesis Project has also been keeping me busy.

Couldnt Sleep...

I know Theres something wrong when I wake up at 4 Am for the third day in a row. Tried to go back to sleep but it was just really hard. Woke up again at 6 and thought Id give this a value work over.

I think its the time change from the trip thats getting me. Damn vacations!@

Euro Trip Sketches!

Whew,

Time definitely flies when your having fun! I was on vacation in Europe for just over 2 weeks and drew over 60 pages in my sketchbook!

Everything was so inspiring, from the people on the cruise I was on to the monuments in Rome and Turkey that I saw. It really opened my eyes and made me appreciate what I do and how I can take a little bit of something and make it my own in my sketch book. It also made me want to really look at where I live (San Fran! ) In a new way. I mean, Theres so much to see where you live...just open your eyes and look harder!
