Here is some panels I did for a story test for Blue Sky Studios. I didnt get the position but I though that I should show you guys how it went. Fun characters and simple story are always fun to work with.

FIGHT!

Heres a piece that I had on the back burner for some time. I had some coffee late last night and couldnt go to sleep so I stayed up and finished this. Let me know what you think of it. Sorry for the lack of BG. I didnt plan for any and I didnt want there to be some sort of half ass background where you could tell i had not planned for it. So here it is just plain o plain.

RANDOM thoughts!

Recently I have been doing lots of drawing for work. Its great stuff that I would love to show one day. Thankfully great projects and great directors are a breeze to work through. When I have the opportunity to run wild with my designs its so fun! There is no better joy. But Once the characters are tied down and one starts to draw them more and more... it can get somewhat hypnotizing. Am i right?

To that I say... get some fresh air!! Go for a walk and draw for yourself at a nearby coffee shop!

I did a page of drawing after work today and it felt so refreshing to just pick random shapes out of the air and fill 'em in.

Boxing for a cause...

So, I know its been a while since I've posted.... Im sorry. I got a job as an animator for Autumn moon entertainment, working on their latest game. The job is pretty much over but man was it a ever a learning experience! It was major crunch time when I first got hired on. The hours were long but the work was far more fun than I could have hoped for. THe team, was only a few people but we worked together very well. Thanks to Bill Tiller for giving me the opportunity to do some 3D animation for you!

Heres a link showing some screenshots of the game! Theres also some concept work there that you can see. Im not sure who did most of the designs, but i did 3 of the ones that are shown.

My goal is to one day become an animator at a major studio. 2D or 3D... Whichever way the wind blows. So on that note, Ill be updating my animation blog more often to pursue my goal. But keep checking back... Here and on my thesis page where I will start positng some artwork and beginging storyboards that I have been working on.

Super Con Pics and more!

Hey guys, so Super-con was pretty relaxing. Hehe.   I was hoping for more of a turn out but I think the weekends heat kept everyone indoors.  Ah well, I met some great people and got to talk to some amazing artists like Francisco Herrera, and Sean "Cheeks" Galloway and a few more which i cant remember off the top of my head. (sorry)

Also I went out drawing last night and wanted to put to use some tips that Cheeks hooked me up with on coloring my stuff digitally.  I wanted to try something new in photoshop and also get a bit more aggressive with lighting than I usually do.  So thanks for the pointers Cheeks! And I hope you guys enjoy the new stuff.

San Jose - SUPER _CON
