Film Noir Project and 11secondclub.com

So Our next Project over here in the Grad Lab of AAU is Going to be a Film Noir style animation. We are just starting to figure out what it is we want to do, but I started doing some artwork to get the ball rolling and just drew what came to mind with the genre. Of course I did use reference from great films such as the Maltese Falcon, This gun for Hire, and Brick.

This is the second character for my 11second club animation. Shes got a great smile.... :)

Underworld for the MOON

Here are some concepts for the Moon Project. I wanted these to have a dark tone. I was also looking at the work of Mary Blair and love how she uses color and texture of strokes in her paintings. If anyone has time they should go check out "the Flair of Mary Blair" exhibit at the cartoon museum in SF.

Freakers Ball

SO Here at the Academy of Art the Grad students have been working on a little Project called Freakers Ball. When I got the Job Here I Quickly jumped on board to help them meet their deadline. These guys put in lots of hard work and I must say that I am proud to be a part of such a great team of artist, animators, and hard workers. This was the opener for the Fall Animation show which was Last NIght and anybody who didnt attend missed out!

Oh and by the way The scene where he lights the ring of fire was given to me by Graham Ross which he had started. Graham and I animated the scene, and I cleaned up and, colored the scene. Fire also done by Graham Ross.

Here it is...Freakers ball in its Greatness!

I want to incorporate it more into my work. There are tons of artist that are urban artist/fine artist that i really admire. LIke Mars - 1 and Jeff Soto to name a couple. How many Drawing can you fit in your mouth?

I can fit about 59.4 drawings in my mouth. That includes, pen and in, copic color sketches, pencil and even some digital drawings. Do not attempt this at home! I myself would never attempt something so unhealthy, unnecessary, and so darn right silly. I just guessed.

Here are some drawings that I would choose if I were to do such a daring thing.

Pencil then a few minutes In PS.

For the masses and the sake of selling records!

Pen and Marker.

I started drawing boxers today while watching TV. My dad was a professional Boxer. Yeah ...he was on espn and all. So i can really get into drawing boxers, whether serious drawing or comical. I really enjoy the sport and respect it and the people who can do it well.

Just took a punch. Drawn waiting for the train.
Drawn while listening to Tia Crater (art director at Pixar) Talk at the Academy of art University. She actually said that the best thing that any artist can do is to have their sketch book on them at all times. .... I was drawing in mine the moment she said that. hehe Thought it was nice.

Drawn waiting for the train.
I felt really sick the other day and couldnt draw anything but this. Ah well.

All this Drawing.... its for the sake of selling records. One day Ill sell more albums than kanye west. Watch me.

3:10 To Yuma

I Saw 3:10 To Yuma the other day and thoroughly enjoyed it. Ben Foster Played Charlie Prince and gave a great performance of the Dark sidekick. His costume is what caught my attention thought so I decided to do a character piece of him. Hope you like. I scanned it in to PSCS3 and added a bit of color to give it a western Look.

Lost in the Zoo

So Jeff Jackson Put a challenge up Titled : Lost in the Zoo. Here is my Final piece. Its more of a little story but you get the point. I spent more time on the final sketch than the first two so the piece as a whole is not as strong as it could be....i just wanted to stop.
Well tell me what you think. Fabes!
