In Brown Prismacolor...

Yup...these were draw with a brown Prismacolor pencil while at the spot...(Cafe Grecco on Columbus and stockton)


Also I update my thesis project blog with some stuff... check it! Lots more to come within the months ahead.

HIs Name is Billy...

He can open his mouth very wide. Just ask him to say ahhhh....I like this idea... I may draw more of him....or ..them!

Café au lait?

This is an ode to an old stuffed animal. When I was a kid I went to a grocery store with my dad (who's name is also Fabian) and we saw a basket full of different stuffed animals, which all had different names on their tag. One in particular was named Fabian Fox. Seeing a stuffed animal with our name on it my dad and I couldn't pass up the offer. The special thing about the animals was that you could squeeze them and they would have a special saying. Fabian Fox's special saying was (in a sexy latin voice) "Would you like a Café au lait?" How Crazy is that?!?

Now, my guess at why I love drawing at coffee shops so much is probably because of this funny stuffed fox who kept offering me Café au lait in such a seductive manner.

Now in my ripe age of 25, I can say that I am drinker of coffee and cant get by a day without it. Heres to you Fabian Fox.

Story!

Here is some panels I did for a story test for Blue Sky Studios. I didnt get the position but I though that I should show you guys how it went. Fun characters and simple story are always fun to work with.

FIGHT!

Heres a piece that I had on the back burner for some time. I had some coffee late last night and couldnt go to sleep so I stayed up and finished this. Let me know what you think of it. Sorry for the lack of BG. I didnt plan for any and I didnt want there to be some sort of half ass background where you could tell i had not planned for it. So here it is just plain o plain.

RANDOM thoughts!

Recently I have been doing lots of drawing for work. Its great stuff that I would love to show one day. Thankfully great projects and great directors are a breeze to work through. When I have the opportunity to run wild with my designs its so fun! There is no better joy. But Once the characters are tied down and one starts to draw them more and more... it can get somewhat hypnotizing. Am i right?

To that I say... get some fresh air!! Go for a walk and draw for yourself at a nearby coffee shop!

I did a page of drawing after work today and it felt so refreshing to just pick random shapes out of the air and fill 'em in.
